The day’s proceedings started with the arrival of the chief guest Mr. Eswaran. P the Asst. Commissioner of Police Salem, along with the school band guided by Mr. John Williams. The flags were unfurled by our respected chief guest, Rev. Bro. Principal along with the brothers of the community graced the stage with their presence. The Kuthuvilaku was lit by the school pupil leader Master. Simrith. S, head girl Ms. Aditi. T, the sports secretary, chief guest and Rev. Bro. Principal. The program was organised by the Cicero circle and was followed by a beautiful prayer service which consisted of a Bible reading by Mast. Zufer, prayer by Mast. Simrith. S, the school pupil leader and Mast. Adithya Ashwin, the Montfort house captain, which was followed by a melodious prayer song by the choir with Mast. Godfrey on the keyboard. The guest of honour Mr. Eswaran.P, was adorned with a ponnadai and a floral bouquet by Rev. Bro. Principal and a memento by Rev. Bro. Sebastian. The welcome note was given by Mast. Yohaan, Ms. Swetha, Ms. Riya, Ms. Shangavi. Mast. Adige, Ms. Janai Shree and Mast. Amann which was followed by a graceful welcome dance by our tiny ladies. An inspiring and motivating speech was given by Ms. Riya and Ms. Maysa that was followed by an entertainment dance that got everybody’s feet tapping by the gentlemen of class IX. The most awaited and Solemon part of the day was the swearing – in ceremony of the prefects and captains along with the theme song ‘Climb Every Mountain’. The handing over of the Medallion and the blessing of the captains and prefects was done by Rev. Bro. Principal along with the blessing song. The 83rd link of Montfort was proudly released by our beloved chief guest Mr. Eswaran. P. He addressed the gathering and spoke about how much he wished to join and study in a prestigious institute like Montfort. He shared his old memories with us that inspired and motivated us to do more, dream more, learn more and become more. This was followed by a word of appreciation by Rev. Bro. Principal to our captains, prefects and the chief guest for spending his precious time with us. Last but not the least the vote of thanks was delivered by the Patrick house girls captain Ms. Trisha Costa. The ceremony was a huge success and it ended in a splendid way.
