The Anglo Indian Schools of T.N State Athletic Meet – 2015 was held at Nehru Stadium, Chennai from 29th to 31st July. 4 students received the Individual Championship in U-17 and U-19. Master. Rakesh. S.R. of Class X set a new record in 200 mts, completing in 23.1 sec, by breaking the previous record 25.5 sec, set by our recent aluminus Master, Sakthi Kumar, our school lifted the Overall Championship in Athletics not only in this Meet but in Zonals and Districts too.
1. Master. Saravana Manikandan and Master. Nischal of Class XII won the first position in U-19 shuttle Badminton – doubles in the Salem divisional competitions held at Dharmapuri, on 15/10/2015.2. Master Gandhi Rajan and Master. Nishanth of class XII won the first position in U-19 Lawn Tennis – doubles in the Salem divisional competitions held at Dharmapuri, on 14th and 15th October 2015.3. Swimming Divisional Competitions for school children were held at Krishnagiri on 29th and 30th October. Our school lifted the Overall Championship for both boys and girls. Boys secured 16 gold medals. 9 silver and 10 bronze medals and girls came up with 8 gold,13 silver and 6 bronze medals.4. The Salem Divisional Athletic Meet was held at Krishnagiri on 3rd and 4th Nov. Among 22 participated, Master. Siva Subramaniyan of class VIII lifted the Individual Championship with 16 points. Our school secured the highest points in Athletics in Salem division, (comprising 5 educational Districts) and received the Rolling Trophy and Overall Championship at the Divisional competitions.5. The Fencing team lifted the Overall Championship with 114 points by winning 9 gold,17 silver and 40 bronze medals in all 3 events (FOIL, EPEE and SABRE) individually as well as in a team.6. Master.R.Arjun Shiv Shankar and Master.S.Arasu of class VII represented Salem district in the Tamil Nadu state mini Volley Ball tournament and won the gold medal.7. Second All India Open Karate Championships held in Goa. Ms.Pooja secured a Gold in the Karate event. In the International Karate Championship conducted at Colombo Srilanka in November. She got two gold medals in Kata and Kumuti events. 8. Master.Tanuj Manickam of class XI represented Indian Schools Foot Ball team in the Asian Schools Championship held at Baotou, China.9. 19th State Inter School Foot Ball tournament was held at Kayalpatnam. Our team took part and won the tournament and was honoured with Haji.L.K.Lebbay Thamby Memorial ever Rolling Trophy.10. School games federation of India conducted 61st National School games 2015-16 Tennis Ball Cricket tournament for boys at Satna, Madya Pradesh from 30th October to 3rd November. Master.Arun.N of class X and Master. Naga Balaji of class XII represented Tamil Nadu state in the tournament.11. Jeremy Vanmalsawma of Class X secured Gold medals in the Divisional and state boxing championships and is selected to participate in SGFI Nationals at Guhathi, Assam, representing Tamil Nadu team.12. 8 of our boys are selected for the National Billiards and Snooker Championship which will be held at Indore, Madhya Pradesh in January – 2016.13. The National tournament in JIU JITSU was held at Navi Mumbai, Vashi from 27th to 30th November. 31 of our students participated and they won 7 gold, 9 silver and 14 bronze medals. 3 students received the “Best spirited Fighter award”, 2 of them received “Best Fighter” Award. Mast. Vignesh. V & Mast. Lal Chandama Hnamte of Class XII were promoted as Junior Instructors with Junior Black Belt & Diploma Certificate 14. Our Senior and Super Senior Basket Ball teams, Senior and Super Senior Handball teams and Super Senior Hockey team won the Divisional competitions and are proudly entering to their state meet.15. This year 114 Montfortians from class VIII – XII will participate in the TamilNadu Bharathiyar day/ Republic day Sports and Games State Meet.
